Poplar OSB3 - The Ultimate Design Solution

Looking for an aesthetic and natural-looking material fit for modern interiors? You've come to the right place!

Ply Online offers a range of Oriented Strand Boards (OSB) alongside our vast plywood range, and would like to introduce you to the benefits of this natural yet stylish material.

Poplar OSB3 is made of layered poplar strands 15-30 mm wide and 0.3-0.5 mm thick, bonded and pressed at hot temperature in a crosswise direction, which reduces the possibility of shrinking and swelling due to air humidity fluctuations.

Poplar OSB board is light, well performing, aesthetically pleasing, environmentally friendly and sustainable. The advantages of product are light and uniform colour, no added formaldehyde, water resistance, lightweight, great mechanical performance, easy to work and cut.

Oriented strand boards (OSB) are also commonly known as sterling boards or flake boards. This engineered wood product is made up of individual poplar wood strands which are tightly adhered to each other with resin in specific orientations.

Manufacturer's Technical Data Sheet

There are different types of OSB panels that are categorised according to their suitability for certain purposes and environments.

OSB 3 - A strong, load-bearing board that can be used in humid conditions. (Psst! Our Poplar OSB3 Sale is now on!)

Other types of OSB Boards are:

OSB 1 - This is an all-purpose board that is suitable for interior construction and furniture in dry conditions.

OSB 2 - A stronger version of oriented strand board that can be used for load-bearing purposes in dry conditions (structural and water resistant on face).

OSB 4 - Heavier duty boards that can bear heavy loads in humid environments.

OSB3 is a strong, affordable, and easy-to-use board that can be used in various construction projects and can bear a substantial amount of weight, but it can only be used for interior projects given its porosity. Common uses for Poplar OSB3 include:
