MDF Panels

(6 products)

MDF abbreviates for Medium Density Fibreboard. It is an engineered wood product composed of refined timber grits, combined with urea-formaldehyde resin and paraffin wax, and pressed to form flat panels. MDF panels are used in multiple applications from furniture manufacturing to shop fittings.

Its density typically ranges from 500 to 1,000 kg/m³. However, the density should be assessed in relation to the fibre type used in the MDF panel. For instance, a thick panel with a density of 700–720 kg/m³ is considered high-density for softwood fibres, but not for hardwood fibres.

Being a cost-effective and durable material, MDF is surprisingly effortless when used along with industrial machinery. Panels are usually manufactured with a smooth surface, which makes them suitable for painting and decorative finishes.
