We are pleased to share another piece of good news: Ply Online has been named a finalist in the 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards, in the Specialised Business category.
Being selected as a finalist recognises the work our team puts into building a specialist plywood and panel business that combines product knowledge, technical support, customer service and a constantly developing range of materials for Australian makers, builders, and designers.
For us, being a specialised business means more than simply stocking unusual products.
Plywood is a technical material. The right choice depends on the application, species, construction, glue bond, face grade, thickness, finish, exposure conditions and sometimes very specific engineering or fabrication requirements. Our role is to help customers navigate those differences and find a product that actually suits the job.
Over the years, Ply Online has expanded well beyond conventional sheet sales. Today, our range includes specialist European plywood, architectural and decorative timber panels, veneered boards, non-slip panels, lightweight materials, OSB, finished plywood and other products that are not always easy to source in Australia.
We have also continued to develop services such as cut-to-size processing, CNC machining, samples, technical advice and educational content through our Plywood Academy and Knowledge Base.

A business cannot become specialised without people who care about the details.
This finalist recognition belongs to our team, who continue to build their product knowledge and solve sometimes surprisingly complicated plywood questions every day.
It also belongs to our customers. Many of the products and services we offer today have developed directly from conversations with people who came to us looking for something that was difficult to find elsewhere.
We appreciate the trust our customers place in us and the recommendations, reviews, project photos, technical questions and occasional challenges that continue to push us to improve.
The winners of the 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards will be announced at the awards evening on 18 September 2026 at 6:30pm.
Whatever the result on the night, being selected as a finalist is recognition we are very proud to receive.
