It was another bright morning at Timber Bay, where the waves hummed softly and the scent of salt and sawdust filled the air. Ply Bob, the cheerful little plywood plank, strolled along the beach with his trusty sanding block in hand. After all, even heroes need a bit of polish!
As he sanded away under the golden rays, a friendly voice called out from behind a palm tree.
“Still shining up those edges, Bob?”
Bob turned, and there stood his old friend Bamboodda, tall and green bamboo board, leaning casually against a coconut tree with a grin as smooth as his finish.
“Bamboodda! I thought you’d gone riding the waves!”
“I did,” laughed Bamboodda, “but I missed the shore, and a good chat with an old mate.”
The two friends spent the day reliving their old days together - building sandcastles shaped like little timber houses, racing seashells across the tide, and drawing faces in the wet sand that the ocean playfully erased. Between the laughter and the sea breeze, their friendship felt as strong as ever.
As the sun began to dip, the two friends sat under a palm, watching the ocean glisten like polished veneer.
“You know, Bob,” said Bamboodda, “you don’t need to shine to be strong.”
“Maybe,” Bob smiled, “but a bit of sanding in the sun never hurts.”
They both laughed as the tide washed gently over their footprints, the beach glowing with golden dust - a perfect finish to a perfect day.
